ChemSymphony (Cherwell Scientific Publishing Company, Oxford, U.K.)

ChemSymphony is a platform- independent set of interactive JAVA applets which allows 3-D molecular structures to be easily incorporated into HTML documents, a revolutionary entry into electronic publishing of scientific publications on the Web.

Downloading of JAVA -enabled browser from Netscape, or Internet Explorer, is required to execute applets.

Structures can be viewed in real-time, rendered in a variety of styles, and then edited by the user. Mouse functionality is quite simple to use: -drag to rotate molecule- -shift-drag to zoom in/out- control-drag to translate- ChemSymphony is truly ideal for scientific papers being published in Internet journals with focus on molecular modeling, molecular design, conformational analysis. Pharmacophoric geometric requirements, for example, can easily be displayed to prospective readers.

An introductory subscription to the service is only $49 (U.S. Dollars) to download and strongly recommended to those doing pioneering research publication in hyperspace.
